Uruguayan Salted Dry Skins:
There are mainly 3 types of woolskins:
1) Spring Lambskins: young lambs which have not been shorn.
Production starts during August/September, up to end of December.
The wool length is between 3 to 6 cms. long, the skins size between 4 - 6 sqft.
They can be used for double face, trimmings and collars.
2) Shorn lambskins which are produced from January on. They start with 0,5 cms. wool length, up to 3 - 4 cms., by the end of the sesson. Skins size is aprox. 4 - 6 sqft.
This type of skins may have up to 40% of seed, therefore only part of them can be use for garments production.
3) Sheepskins: They are produced through all the year, with wool, starting at 0.5cms up to 6cms., depending the tiem of the season. Skins size starts from 5 sqft up, aprox. average 7 - 8 sqft.
They are mainly siutable for napalan production and linings.
Process:
All our skins are hand salted with marine salt and air dried.
We only produce skins obtained from export slaughter houses which are machine flayed.
Defects:
a) Uruguayan skins may have some seeds defects, which can be seen after the tanning process, that means, our skins are free of visible seeds. Those seed are mainly concentrated in the bellies area.
b) Ribs: Uruguayan skins may have only 10% of light ribs, since our Corriedale breed do not have ribs.
Grading:
Our skins are clasify into 3 categories:
1st. Grade: Sound skins, without defects
2nd. Grade: May include asymetric shapes or a small cut.
3rd. Grade: May include some cuts, some ribs, seeds or other bigger defects.
Deliveries:
We deliver all skins in blaes of aprox 400 - 450 kgs and the quatities in each bale depending the wool length and weight of each skin.
TANNED SHEEPSKINS:
We also produce all type of chrome tanned sheepskins:
a) Napalan for garments.
b) Napalan with special tanning for boots production.
c) Linings for shoes and boots.
d) Tanned sheepskins for collars.
FINISHES PRODUCTS:
a) We produce aprox 2500 double face - napalan garments monthly. We are specialiest in all styles of bomber jackets (B3) as well as 3/4 length garments.
b) We produce several types of hats, mittens and hand bags, all of them from double face - napalan leather.
All our finished products are designed by our designers staff with experience over 25 years, working for our customers all over the world.
